I'm exhausted. It's Sunday, about 9:00pm and I just got done with my coupon cutting from the Sunday papers I bought after church today. The day started great, I even got the people at church interested in joining me for a coupon group, then I shopped for a few things at Rite-Aid I had coupons for (of course). I bought 4 newspapers for the circulars, not sure I would get the one that was supposed to be delivered to the house. Of course I did, so now I have 5 papers to go through; woo-hoo!

Ok, so it's the beginning of the week and I like to check some of the sites that show me good deals. I find it so much fun to see what great deals are out there! I am looking at it as a game. Let's see how much we can save today! My family is already aware of how Mom hates to buy things without any coupons! I figure if the companies are putting these discounts out there then I should use them! My daughter gets so excited when she sees how much I saved! Even my son is impressed and he is the real miser of the family!

As I sit here printing my lists and gathering other online  coupons I realize this uses A LOT of paper and toner. Hmmm, I think I need to pay attention when paper is free or at least heavily discounted. I have a laser printer so now I just have to remember to print in b&w, saving my color toner.

I am still new to this type of saving. I have been cutting out coupons for years but never really used them. They stayed on my counter then expired and went into the garbage. Now I LOVE collecting coupons. When I have a nice pile I have a Trapper Keeper with the baseball card holders all sorted. I sit for many hours clipping, sorting and filing my coupons but it feels like a labor of love! When I go to the store and see my savings I know I am helping my family. Being an at-home Mom all these years I've stressed not bringing in money to help out. However now I feel as if I am making an important contribution. Not just the at-home-mom thing but really saving us some money! NICE!! My husband tells me all the time how excited he is about me doing the coupons! I laughed at first thinking ya ya I know saving money! Then we started really talking about it and I said I would like to have a website to document my journey with couponing. He though that was a great idea and since he is a web designer (www.trigwebdesign.com) -shameless plug!- he built me this site. So I hope we can learn together.
